The Haka is a traditional Maori dance. It was traditionally performed before charging into battle. In 1888 the first Haka was performed by a New Zealand Rugby team in Britain. The Haka involves loud chanting aggressive body movements and fierce facial expressions. It is seen as a challenge thrown down to the opponents.
